Still no new beads from me...

I am lying in bed with what is probably the swine flu; my doctor think it must be it, but they don't make tests here anymore.
Since Saturday evening I have very high temperetaure, headaches, and everything...the full program.
So there will be no more new beads until next week!

I am in heart mood...

For years I have had a heart press lying around on my table and every time I made a heart I thought I should use that press, because my freeformed hearts were never really symmetrical. But the hearts of the press were a little to big for me.
A few days ago, I sold the press and now I can make hearts the size I like them and they get much nicer now and even perfectly symmetrical, go figure...

Playing with some DH oddlots...

I tend to stash away my precious DH rods, take them out from time to time to gaze lovingly at them and putting them away again.

Well, until yesterday...

I made stringers of some unknown test batch( had ost the tag while washing the glass) and added them to light grey opaque moretti. And here is the result: chai latte colored glass and wonderful pearlescent scrolls:

A couple of new hearts for etsy

Turquoise and ivory are my favorite glass colors and when my stock of dark ivory goes below a pound, I get nervous and it is time to reorder some...
Same with copper green, I especially love the nice reactions it makes with silvered ivory.

Frosted Jewels on etsy

I made these beads already in December but the weather was not good enough to take pictures. Now that I finally have my small portable photobox, I am independant from the weather outside!
I love the translucence of the etched transparent glass; the beads look as if they were frosted.

New Year Resolutions

I hope that the new year 2010 brings you joy, health and happiness and that all your New Years resolutions and wishes will come true!
One of my resolutions for 2010 is to revive my bead blog. I have been deleting all the old posts and want to start again from scratch, as the old postings were gathering dust already; the last one being from summer 2008!

My other blog

is in german and dedicated to all my creative activities: knitting, sewing, herbs, jewelry making and of course lampworking.

On this blog I want to concentrate exclusively on lampworking, keeping track of my experiments, sharing beads and great links.
